Community Wealth, Rooted in Tradition

For generations, communities across the African and Caribbean diaspora—and around the world—have practiced a trusted form of collective saving called Rotating Savings and Credit Associations, or ROSCAs.

At their core, ROSCAs are simple: a group of people come together, contribute money regularly, and take turns receiving a lump sum. But their impact goes far beyond the financial. These circles build trust, confidence, and a sense of shared responsibility. They remind us that when we pool our resources, we all rise together.

The Banker Ladies Council, believe in the power of community-based finance. We're here to share the knowledge, stories, and tools needed to keep this tradition alive and strong.

OUR

GOAL

Our Mission

The Banker Ladies Council exists to uplift and legitimize the powerful tradition of Immunity-based saving through Rotating Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCAs). Our mission is to educate the public, advocate for financial justice, and organize a national network of ROSCA practitioners who have long been excluded from mainstream financial systems.

Our Vision

Through The ROSCA Network, we are dedicated to supporting ROSCA users—offering education, training, advocacy, and a place to connect.

Rooted in the wisdom of Black, African, Caribbean, and other racialized communities, ROSCAs are more than just savings circles—they are vehicles for home ownership, entrepreneurship, and education.

We believe in recognizing the value of informal banking systems, protecting the rights of those who use them, and building a strong, united membership that brings visibility, voice, and dignity to this age-old practice.

We are here to legitimize what our communities have always known: our collective wealth is our strength.
